4 turkey thighs or 2 large turkey thighs, bone-in, skin-on (~2 pounds total)
1 cup barbecue sauce, I used Sweet Baby Rays or use your favorite
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Instructions
In a large soup pot, place thighs on the bottom. Add enough water to cover them. Mix in 1/2 cup bbq sauce and a little garlic powder and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 1 hour or so until fork tender.
Remove turkey thighs to a plate. Using a paper towel, remove the skin and discard.
Preheat broiler. Line a baking pan with foil. Place the underside of each thigh on top of foil and spread the top of each thigh with 1 tablespoon bbq sauce. If using 2 large thighs, spread each side with 2 T bbq sauce. Broil for about 5-8 minutes until darkened and looking glazed. Remove from broiler, turn each over and cover each with 1 tablespoon bbq sauce. Place back in broiler and cook until tops are darkened and glazed.
To serve, slice meat off the bones and add to a serving plate, if desired. These will keep in the refrigerator for several days and freeze great.
